Now, the BIG highlight... Drew went pee-pee on the potty for the first time!! He has been entertaining the idea for a few weeks, but we've never had results until this past Friday. This crew had quite the little celebration afterwards... pretty sure I've never jumped as high as I did when I realized what he was doing!
Quick little warning - this next story may be TMI for some, but I thought it would be a good little read for Drew someday... We had been outside and he had sat in a puddle, so his shorts were soaked. It was getting close to bath time, so when we came inside, I asked him if he wanted to sit on his potty. We took his shorts and diaper off and marched to the bathroom. He started out wanting to go in the big potty, which he hasn't done before, but I'm guessing they look the same as the potty at school. Andy redirected him to "Drew's potty" and he turned around, opened the lid, sat down and immediately started going. His face and our reactions were priceless! Really wish we could have caught all of that on video somehow. Woohoo!! Way to go Drew! We were so proud!! We are far from trained and know it was just really good timing on our part, but good grief, it was such a BIG moment!
Saturday morning, we met Andy's parents for breakfast and spent some time at the Farmer's Market. Drew loved it. He helped pick out veggies, played in the fountain and maybe thought about going for a swim...
We met our friend Miles and his parents at Wilson Park that afternoon. The boys played for over an hour and then we all headed over to Orange Leaf for a FroYo treat. Drew doesn't love cold treats yet, but he actually liked it a little more this time.
After church on Sunday, we met Lance, Traci and Marlowe at the Safari in Gentry. We loved it! I hadn't been in at least 15 years and this was Andy and Drew's first time. Such a neat experience for little ones. I took so many pictures, I had to put them in a collage...
We wrapped the weekend up with "Sunday Dinner" at Mimi and Poppy's. My phone died from taking so many pictures at the zoo, so I didn't get any pictures from there. However, Drew did start his Monday off doing some hard work... building of a morning, mowing of a night...
