To start, he was 35.5'' and weighed 26 pounds at his 2 year well check. Still in the 75th and 25th percentile. The doctor said he was doing perfect and was impressed with his vocabulary and already being potty trained!
What he's is currently loving:
- Anything to do with music! Singing, dancing and playing his new drum set. His favorite songs to sing are "Baa Baa Black Sheep", "Wheels on the Bus", "Twinkle, Twinkle" and any random tune that pops in to his head that doesn't necessarily have words.
- Playing basketball! He got a goal for his birthday and he "practices" almost every night. He stands pretty far back and actually does really well making it. When he makes it, he jumps up and down saying "I make it! I make it!" and wants to give you a high five.
- Coloring! This is cute, because it is something he almost always wants someone to do with him. He has a sweet way of asking "daddy, you wanna color".
- Trucks and School Busses! On the way to school every morning, he points out all of the school busses and big trucks. He has now started noticing the differences in trucks and points them out as "big trucks", "dump trucks" or "box trucks".
- Tennis shoes! He wants them on all the time and he still loves the red ones. No matter how many times we think we have hidden them, he will spot them and immediately switch out of whatever he is wearing at the time. If we have been out and he's had his boots or other shoes on, he takes them off and changes to his tennis shoes as soon as we get home.
- Reading - This has been a favorite for a while. He goes through phases on what he likes to read, but right now he is loving "The Little Blue Truck" and his "Baby's First Bible". Last week he was at my parents house and he asked his Mimi if she would read his Bible to him. She asked him what they were going to read about and he told her Noah... so he is loving that little story in particular for now.
- Cleaning - This is another one that's been around for a while. He loves to clean up a mess. Loves to sweep, attempt to use the actual mop, wipe up a spill on the floor... anything. He's also really good to pick up after himself... for now anyway.
What he's learning at school:
- Numbers - Counting to 20 in English and 10 in Spanish. He recognizes those numbers also.
- Letters - Knows his alphabet and recognizes a good portion of the letters. They have sound baskets at school and I got a note last week that he had mastered the first sound basket, meaning he knows what sound the letters s, m, a, r and t make. He sang his ABC's quite a bit tonight and it was the first time I noticed he consistently got every letter in the right order! He can also recognize the letters of his name and what it spells when you write it out for him.
- Colors - He loves to color and will specifically seek out a color from the box. The way he pronounces orange and purple are the cutest.
- Shapes - He's known most of these for a while, but he has recently added oval and triangle. Hearing him say both of those is hilarious.
- Body Parts - He knows all of them and just started learning about organs and bones. He shows us where his brain and heart are, but the cutest is when he shows what he thinks his bones are. At school they are showing them the bones in their hands, so he will pick up his little hand and look so closely at it while he shows you.
- Yoga! He is doing downward dog, the tree pose and the child's pose. Haha!
- Bad/Sad/Happy choices - These are funny to hear him say, but they have totally worked in situations where we needed him to do the opposite of what he was doing (i.e. trying to use the couch as a chalkboard).
What he's saying... (I'm going to have to start keeping up with these on here for all the funny things he is saying lately) -
- See you tomorrow - "See you tomorry"
- Holy Cow - "Howy Cow"
- Holy Moly - "Howy Mowy"
- Drumsticks - "drumstips"
- Bless your heart - "Bless ya hot" - he says this with furrowed brows and a super concerned tone.
- "Oh My Gosh"
- "Mommy, do you like it?"
- "We're hoooome!"
- "Mommy, is your coffee hot?"
- "Mommy, it's cold outside. Do you need a hat?"
- "Duker, that's a bad choice!"
- "Mommy, you OK?" (so sweet!)
- "Bless you Daddy!"... "you're welcome"
- "Let's Rock Out"
- And yesterday was a new one... Conversations with himself - He had taken his shoes and socks off and was literally having a conversation with his feet..."Foot, you made a sad choice? I'm sorry. You make happy choices"... he did this for a good two minutes. So stinkin' funny!

I feel like I am missing several things, but I definitely got a lot of the highlights. Drew is learning so much and changing by the minute. Some days he seems so big, which is exciting and sad at the same time!
Just a few pictures to capture some of the things above (and notice the tennis shoes in every pic)...
Those dang red shoes...
Basketball...
Coloring with chalk...
Downward Dog...
Cleaning his car...
