Easter!

Easter was so much fun this year! Drew got to participate in three Easter egg hunts, a little road trip to Jasper and a lot of family time. He was such a trooper and loved every minute of it!

Friday afternoon he had an egg hunt at school with his friends. They have a play area outside their classroom, so the two Toddler classes teamed up and had their own little egg hunt. It was so cute! I don't think Drew ever put any eggs in his actual basket. He enjoyed putting them in his friend's basket... until he realized they had snacks in them...
Hanging with Aubrey on the slide afterwards...
We gave Drew his Easter basket on Saturday morning, because we knew how much we were going to need it the next couple of days. He liked all of his goodies, but he loved tearing into the grass.

Before, during and after...
Of course, he had to sweep up his mess afterwards. Ha!
Saturday afternoon, we met my brother, sister-in-law and Marlowe at their church in Rogers for his second egg hunt. Afterwards, we went to our church's Easter service with my mom and then met back up with everyone for dinner.

Dressed and ready to go!
Drew did pretty good for his first "real" Easter egg hunt. He would put the eggs in his basket, but he loved taking them apart and putting them back together. That's what he spent most of his time doing during the actual hunt.
Off he goes...
Getting a little help from Dad...
In action, working on an egg and getting a little help from sweet Marlowe...

Family Easter Picture...
Look at those curls...
Sunday, we loaded up and went to Jasper to see Andy's side of the family. Drew was kicked back, enjoying his snack and ready to go...
We had a big Easter dinner at Andy's Granny's house and then all the kids hunted eggs.
Taking off again... he's a pro by now!
Showing off his findings...
Working on an egg...
He found a real one! And wasn't sure what to do since he couldn't open it and put it back together...
Group picture of all the great grandkids...
Every grandkid and great grandkid has had their picture made on this deer, so this was a must. I would love to find the one of Andy someday!
On our way home, we stopped by to see Tim, Dessa and the girls. They love Drew and the feeling is mutual, so it was a nice little surprise for all of them!
Whew! We had a BUSY Easter weekend, but a very BLESSED one for sure!

Hot Springs and Drew's News

This past week has been busy! I had to do an overnight trip for work and then Andy and I went to Hot Springs for the weekend with our family and friends. Drew spent the weekend with my parents, so I don't have a ton of pictures, but I do know that Drew learned to growl like a bear, cover his mouth when he coughs and shake hands while he was there. He was working on a couple of those things at school, but with the help of Mimi and Poppy, he definitely perfected them while we were gone!

When we got to the horse races on Saturday morning, I told Andy I only wanted to bet on Drew's birthday. The first race, third horse. So, we blindly bet $10 for him to win and he won! We were so excited and this was easily the coolest part of the day.
We had such a great trip, but we definitely missed this sweet boy...
Just over the last week, Drew has started recognizing certain colors (blue, green and purple as far as I know), showing us his eyes, nose, mouth and belly, shaking hands and making certain animal noises (bear and monkey). I am hoping to get a great video to post of him doing his monkey impersonation... it is hilarious! I don't have pictures of all of it yet, but here are few...
I know this is gross, but I had to add it for later. Every time we ask where his nose is, he does a great job pointing at it and then somehow ends up doing this...
Shaking hands with Dad...
I did an earlier post of Drew reading, and it is still one of his favorite things to do. "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" is his favorite book if you can't tell. I think it's time to invest in a hard book for this one...
On Monday it snowed like crazy when we got home, so of course, he had to go check it out...
And just one night later, he was all smiles for nicer weather!
Happy Hump Day!

Little bit of lately...

It has been a few weeks since I have done an update. Here are some of my favorite pictures and highlights since then...

We celebrated Andy's birthday! Dinner at Gusano's and then Andy opened his presents... yes, Andy loves Dwight Yoakam and yes, that is him doing a Dwight Yoakam impersonation.
Drew has started doing this "i, i, i" thing and it looks like he's singing Happy Birthday at dinner here. Quite hilarious!
We went to Tate's first birthday party at Fast Lane's. Drew was all about it and unfortunately we never got a picture with the birthday boy... both of them were way too busy for that!
We took a break after the party and watched it rain for a bit...
He found my glasses in the bathroom drawer and came through my bedroom trying to put them on. Of course, this was the perfect opportunity to sit him down and watch him work at it for a little bit.
He added a few more cleaning chores to his list of hobbies... sweeping and laundry!
He went to the Botanical Gardens Farmer's Market with Aubrey, spent some time at the park and ran into a classmate!

On our way home, he kept saying "oooooo" and shaking his head back and forth. It doesn't sound as cute as it actually is in person, but I wanted to put it on here for Andy and I to remember.
He figured out he could see the actual outside of the doggie door. This could definitely become a problem. Notice he carried the entire cheese ball bucket to the doggie door with him.
He played golf in the backyard with Dad and spent a chunk of time being a stud on his four wheeler.

And he had a nice conversation with the Razorback on the front porch after church.
As you can see, our last few weeks have been very entertaining. He is keeping us busy and we love every minute of it! One more pic for the road... he looks so big here!

Our little reader...

One of Drew's favorite things to do lately is read. He loves for us to read to him, but he is also loving to pick up a book and read it himself...

14 Months!

Drew is 14 months old today! I tried to get pictures of the new things he's been up to this past month, but with as busy as he is now, it wasn't always easy!

This month he started clapping and stomping his feet to the "If You're Happy and You Know It" song.
He learned to clean his plate off after he gets done eating and put it on the shelf at school. He also puts his cup on the shelf... instead of throwing it half way across the room. We are getting there at home too!
He is getting better at using his utensils. He understands the concept, but the coordination of actually keeping something on his fork isn't quite there yet. It is cute to watch though!
He still loves to clean. Earlier this week one of his teachers at school said "Drew sure can clean a table!"
He's really started enjoying books and reading more this month. He will open up a book and go to town "reading" it and pointing at the pictures.

He started playing chase with his daddy. He gets so excited when he sees Andy coming for him and has the cutest squeal when he's running away or actually gets caught.
At 14 months, Drew weighs around the 23 lb mark, has 10 total teeth, still has the same bed time and wake time, started becoming a little bit of a picky eater, is talking and communicating more but we are only making out a hand full of words (his newest thing is "nana" when he wants something. We have no idea what word he is actually trying to say, but it is very consistent and persistent!), he is mostly a mama's boy right now, but knows who to go to when it's time to play and have fun. He loves being silly with Andy and they are both really good at it! They definitely keeps me entertained now and I know it's only going to get better as Drew gets older!
