Christmas Week!

We started our week off with Christmas with the Emerson's. They got to our house Saturday morning and other than getting groceries we didn't leave. We kept ourselves busy with making gingerbread houses..

 Making cookies for Santa...
And opening presents Sunday morning. Drew woke up to a new set of drums from Tim, Dessa, Grey and the girls. This drum set is the real deal! I don't think any of us realized how "for real" they were until Tim and Andy put them together. So far, we love it! He plays them in moderation and he actually has a pretty good beat that makes it less obnoxious!

We also made a big dinner for Sunday night and my parents joined us too!
After dinner, the neighborhood carolers stopped by. It was my first time to experience carolers at my door and they did great!
On Monday morning, this crew came with us to our big ultrasound for the gender reveal of baby #2! We are having another BOY!! Ross Henry - Ross is my Dad's middle name and Henry is my Papa's name. Andy and I found out together at my 16 week appointment and didn't tell anyone until we had the big ultrasound with our family. Sweet moment with just the two of us and another sweet moment with some of our closest family members in there with us! I should have turned the flash on to get a better picture, so I'll label for future reference!
Andy, Halle, Drew, Cassie, Sidney, Mom, Dessa, Tim
 First family of 4 picture!
I still have Drew's 12 week ultrasound picture. Drew is on the left and Ross Henry is on the right. From these two pictures, it doesn't look like they have the same profile, but I love looking at the side by side comparison.
I knew the house would be crazy Christmas Eve and Christmas morning, so we did a little pre-cleaning. Drew literally mopped the entire living room and then helped vacuum after that. He is too good!
We had a Christmas Eve surprise visit from Nedra. She brought Drew all sorts of goodies and he loved every minute of it!
After Nedra left, we decided to let Drew open his presents and stocking from us and save the Santa gifts for Christmas morning. He was so cute this year! After each present that he opened, he wanted to open the box and play with it right then. It was nice that he was taking his time and really appreciative and excited about each gift, but we were also a little antsy for him to open all of the gifts. That night his two favorite gifts were probably the remote control car and the camera.
When he unwrapped this present and saw a snowman on the box he said "oh! this is a frosty the snowman!"...

We set out (leftover) cookies for Santa...
 Busted eating Santa's cookies!
Christmas morning he woke up to a guitar, an ipad mini and a Santa sack full of miscellaneous fun stuff! I thought the guitar I ordered was similar to the one he had at Halloween (that he broke trying to fix), but this pitiful thing turned out to be such a dud! I felt so bad! He enjoyed it for a little bit and then kept saying "this doesn't work" and somehow the strings have already come off of it... good grief!

Later that morning, we went to my parents house for Christmas. Last family of 3 picture on Christmas!

Drew was spoiled rotten and hit the jackpot with his new balancing bike from my parents! That was hands down his favorite gift that day. We haven't got to test it outside too much yet, but he gets the concept when he practices inside and is pretty good so far!

Mom made Drew and Marlowe their own little place setting for lunch - so cute!
After Christmas with my parents, we headed to Berryville for Christmas with Andy's grandma. Drew was spoiled there too! Building towers with Grandpa Bob and trucks with Uncle Mark...
Having a snack and taking it easy for a little bit....
After we finished Christmas in Berryville, we headed to Chimes for Christmas on the mountain with the rest of my family. My Uncle Larry brought his tractor over and took Drew for his first ride. He was on cloud nine! When he took him in the field to the cows, he said Drew sang Old McDonald Had a Farm... Ha!

We were home all day Saturday taking down Christmas and cleaning out the play room. Drew was exhausted and spent the majority of Saturday night on the couch. Look how big he looks here!
We ended the week with a play date with Drew's cousin Tate. These two are 2 months apart and have the same level of energy! Non-stop, all boy, all the time...
I think it is safe to say for both Andy and me that this was our favorite Christmas so far. It was so fun watching Drew truly experience all of it and understand it for the first time. He talked about Santa, but I could never tell if he truly thought it was actually Santa that brought him the Christmas morning gifts. He knew that it was Jesus' birthday and sang the birthday song to him early that morning, he knew we were giving gifts and receiving gifts and seemed to really appreciate every single thing he got. And he also knew and loved that we were spending such good quality time with our families. Sweet memories were made this year and I know all three of us will never forget them!

The last 6 months!

Good grief, this is supposed to serve as a "baby book" for Drew and it has been six whole months since I have updated. My New Year's Resolution is to update at least twice a month... all I need is for someone to tell me I won't do it to ensure that I stick to it :) I'm going to try to do my best to recap the time I've missed... mostly in pictures, so this could be a long one.

Drew got his first lesson in the new house over not drawing on the walls...
Had Marlowe over for 4th of July and bought his first fireworks...
Started his big boy class at school! This class is from 2.5 - 4.5 years, so it was hard to send him off with the bigger kids, but he has done amazing! Hasn't skipped a beat...
Had his sweet friend Kenzie over for a visit and I somehow actually caught this sweet moment. He is holding his "microwave", so I am thinking they were scheming up which song to sing next...
We had our patio extended and got this sweet handprint of Drew's on the flowerbed lining! I thought we missed the cut off, but was so glad they surprised me with it...
Tried swim lessons again this year and he still wasn't a fan. He did better with just him and Andy at the neighborhood pool, but the actual lessons were a total bust. He looked cool hating it though...
Drew's school was closed for a few days, so we took advantage of a long weekend and headed to Kansas City. We shopped at the plaza...
Ate at a much fancier restaurant than we meant to, and this is how we behaved...
Had breakfast at our favorite place there and caught one of my favorite pictures of Drew from the summer...
And ended our trip with a stop at the aquarium...
He went to his first Tontitown Grape Festival. He LOVED the rides, especially the roller coaster and thought the grape ice cream was OK too...
We started golf lessons and he loved it! We had to take a break now that it's colder. He is a lefty and has a really good swing!
He still loves basketball too and will play any time... boots, pj's and all...
Working on his jump shot... stud...
We got to go camping... just once, but he loved every minute of it!
 Celebrated Mimi's birthday at Chuy's!
Got all dressed up for Ty and Amie's wedding and snuck in a dance with Aubrey...
Went to his second dentist appointment - we are still cavity free and everything looked great! He didn't do very well once the cleaning started though...
Got to go to his first Razorback football game!! He yelled "rebound" during most of his cheering and lasted until half time, which we considered a success!
First tailgate of the season for Drew and his friend Ryder joined us too!
 Family picture after the game...
He went through a phase of coming home from school, completely undressing and redressing himself. His outfits were pretty comical, but I wasn't about to stop him. Pretty good job for a two and a half year old!
Got to go to Bikes, Blues & BBQ for the first (and probably only) time...
Second to last golf lesson of the year. He takes lessons with two other little boys and their teacher was Mr. Taylor - he did an awesome job!
He got to get dressed up again and go to another fun wedding! Our family friend and one of his Sunday school teachers, Ms. Liz, got married!
He fell in love with peanut butter...
Drew's school has parent observation week, where the parents get to watch their child in their normal day for thirty minutes to an hour. We were so impressed! There are not limits to what they teach them and how well they retain it. We got to watch him do his "red rods", which is just sorting from smallest to largest and helps with math preparation for later on..
We got to watch him work on, and almost master, his continent map. He had to take the puzzle piece over to the teacher and tell her what the continent was and if he got it right, he got to place it on the actual map.
We also watched him do a water pouring exercise, which is part of the practical life lesson he was doing at the time that helps with coordination and independence.
And totally shifting gears, but in the middle of September we found out we were pregnant and due in May! Drew is very excited and talks about the baby a lot! He kisses my belly and even puts his ear up to it to listen. So sweet!
In early October, he got to go to the corn maze with his school friends. (Drew, Miles, Rose, Aubrey)
They took a wagon ride to feed the cows tortillas! (Kemper, Aubrey, Rose, Drew, Bankston, Miles)
Drew's second round of tailgating for the year. He's a natural!
Hat day at school... loved his face too much in this pic not to add...
Drew was Willie Nelson this year for Halloween and he rocked every minute of it! He had learned "if you got the money honey" earlier in the summer, so my coworker talked me in to dressing him up as Willie. He was too cute!
The day after Halloween, we put our Christmas decorations up. It was literally the only weekend we had open until after Christmas! Plus, I think it's too pretty and takes too much work to wait too much later :)
 Drinking milk like a boss...
Meeting his elf, Sam. He did not like Sam at first...
So I let him give him one big hug before he couldn't touch him anymore (even though he didn't quite abide by that). He called him San, but learned how to spell his name over the month we had him and always spelled it Sam.
 Serious chats with "San"...
Drew took his first trip to Silver Dollar City! We went with my parents, Lance, Traci and Marlowe. We got there around 1:30 and left just a little before 9:00. The kids had fun, it wasn't too cold, the lights were beautiful and Drew LOVED the rides.
He got to see Santa while he was there. He was so big this year! He shook my hand off as we got up there and walked up by himself. So proud and a little sad at the same time! He told Santa he wanted... "a guitark, drums and drumsticks" for Christmas. So, I'm wrapping up this overdue post and will leave my next one for a full Christmas update.
