Drew turns 2!

Drew turned 2 a few weeks ago and his birthday fell on a Friday this year, so we partied all week long... and maybe in to the next weekend a little bit too. Last year we did pancakes before we took him to school, but this year we both had to be at work early, so we did an afternoon celebration instead. I picked him up after his nap at school and we headed to Party City to pick out a birthday balloon. He loved all of them, but we ended up with Mickey Mouse.
After that, we went to Chuck E Cheese. His first trip! He was such a big boy. He carried around his own tokens, put his tokens in the machines by himself and played all the games that were appropriate to his age/size. If you are wondering... we had to change pants on the way due to a water bottle spill in the car. Oops!
We finished the afternoon with a cookie from Maggie Moo's.
Later, Tim, Dessa and the girls came up and we celebrated with pizza and cookie cake.
Drew got to open his presents from them before his party and one of them was a Minion from the Despicable Me movie. That thing is hilarious and Drew loves it. If you push it's belly, it makes the worst tooting noise and Drew thinks the minion needs to go to the potty almost every time he does this. Pretty funny! That night, he took the minion in to the bathroom and brought him out like this. Now he just takes him to the potty and says "Good boy Minion!"...
We had a Pancakes & Pajamas birthday themed party on Saturday morning and it turned out so cute. I am thinking this might be the last year I get to pick a cute theme, so I'm glad I went with this one!

Birthday sign, party favors, food set up, donut cake and drinks. I really wish I would have taken a close up of the bacon on a stick at the food table...
Balloon Drop...
Pancakes with his friends at the kid table...
Singing Happy Birthday...
I think Drew was a little overwhelmed (we had right at 40 people! loved little boy!). He wasn't really interested in his donut cake but he did sit and listen to everyone sing to him. As soon as we were finished and the candles were blown out, he said he wanted to go jump in the bounce house, so he was over it pretty quickly.
It was way too hard to try to get all the kids together in the same picture, but we did manage to get one of his school friends. Drew and Rose are the only two in this picture that are still together. The rest of them are in a different class now :(
Sweet talkin' Aubrey before the party was over...
Because our friend Ryder is only a day apart from Drew, we have to celebrate with them separately. So, the next weekend Ryder came over and luckily the people we rented the bounce house from still hadn't picked it up and we got to use it again! The boys bounced, shared a birthday cookie and played with everything that they could in the two hours they were together. Sweet little friendship!
My goodness! Such a great birthday week for Drew. Definitely one that made a lot of memories, started a few traditions and will be fun to look back on in years to come!

I posted this on instagram, but since this is for Drew to have later, I doubt he will go back and find this so I'm reposting on here... "Happiest of Happy Birthday's to my full of energy, life loving, smart, hilarious, potty trained!, independent and genuinely sweet hearted Drew! Constantly overwhelmed with how perfect he is and how much he blesses us every single day!"
