A Trip to Branson

We went to Branson this past weekend with my parents, brother, sister in law and niece. We didn't really have anything on the agenda, but shopping, the Shanghai circus and an old time family photo. All of those things were accomplished, but we also had a lot of time to just sit around and hang out with everyone too.

Our first morning there, we hit the outlet mall. It was a pretty quick shopping trip because it was so cold, but Drew did really well staying in his stroller and even took a nap for us. That afternoon, we went to the Shanghai Circus, which was really just an acrobatic show. We only got about 30 good minutes out of Drew before we had to start taking turns letting him walk around the lobby.
After the show, we went to the Mexican restaurant at The Landing for dinner. Love that place!
Drew enjoyed his conversation with the dinosaur...
After dinner he loved walking out to the fountain and even stopped to dance a little bit!
Saturday morning, Drew and Marlowe got some great play time in. They were so sweet together.
They climbed up on the coffee table to look out the window and Marlowe said "Drew, let's look at the world!"... so cute.
Later that morning, we headed out to get an Old Time family photo taken. We chose the hillbilly theme. Ha! It was fun, but I don't think I'll talk any of them into doing it again.
My other SIL and two of my nieces happened to be in town shopping, so we met up with them that afternoon for some more cousin time. Halle taught Drew how to make a wish at the fountains and he successfully threw two pennies in the water. I would love to know what he wished for!
Looks like these three were having a serious talk here...
When we got back, Drew kept himself entertained going back and forth from the patio to the living room. He loved the step in the doorway and being able to shut the door and reopen it. At one point, he brought all of his puzzle pieces out to one of the chairs and then turned around and took them back in, one by one, until he was finished with the puzzle. Pretty darn cute! You can't see the puzzle piece here, but that's what he was grabbing in this picture.
Completing his puzzle after many trips back and forth. (Yes, we're missing a few pieces! Who can keep all of those together?)
We ended the weekend with a trip to get ice cream and watch Marlowe drive her first go-kart. It was too cold to stand outside and watch, so we sat in the car and I didn't get any good pictures.

We had such a fun weekend! Even though we all live so close and see each other weekly, it was nice to go on a small little trip like this together. I will say, these trips are even more fun because of the stories we get out of my parents and the kids. They all make for some great entertainment!

Farmer's Market and a trip to Granny D's

This past week was the perfect combination of being low key and busy. I love those! Before the weekend got started, Drew discovered the frozen biscuits and must have thought they looked really good...
Friday night, Andy and I snuck away for a few hours and went to dinner, while our sweet friends, Steven and Kelley hung out with Drew. Steven and Drew hit it off really well and it was so nice to get pictures like this one for updates...
Saturday morning we went to the farmer's market and then to my parents house for breakfast. Drew woke up in a great mood and ready to go... bed head and all!
Showing us his belly...
The weather was so nice for the first farmer's market of the year! Andy loaded Drew up in the backpack and he was a cool as he could be the entire time. He loved it!
Coloring at Mimi and Poppy's house after breakfast. Could they be sweeter?
On Sunday, we went to Andy's grandma's house in Berryville to celebrate the people with Spring Birthday's. She fixed a big dinner and we spent the rest of the afternoon visiting outside. Drew didn't have a problem finding himself a seat... right in the middle of the dirt road...
Or joining in the conversation with Granny D and Aunt Dessa...
He took a nice stroll with his Daddy and then was ready to roll...
He couldn't leave without getting some sweet Halle kisses though!
Drew was so tired when we got home! He had only slept about an hour the entire day, so he was in bed and asleep by 7:20. Sweet boy is a trooper when it comes to traveling!

On a random note, Andy has been on a mission to find a safari hat like Drew's for himself. He finally found one tonight at Academy and came home with this picture... two peas in a pod!
And what would a post on here be without a picture of Drew doing some housework!

15 Months Old!

Hard to believe! I say it every month, but it's true. He learns something new every day and we are having so much fun watching him show us those new things. Over the past month, Drew got 2 new teeth, added the words apple, ball, yellow, but he's also saying hello when he's pretending to be on the phone, which sound pretty similar. And we think he is saying his name when he sees his picture in the house. If he sees one, he will say "Dew" and point to it. He is also recognizing some of the basic colors... blue, green, yellow and purple that we know for sure. He makes noises for a wolf, bear, monkey and waddles like a penguin. Drew's teacher, Ms. Jenny, has been so great. She is working with their class on so many things and always updating us on instagram. Some of my favorite pictures that she posted this past month do a great job documenting what he's been up to at school!

It's so cool to see him actually learning and retaining the information. This age seemed so far away at this time last year and I had no idea how fun it was going to be!

Wolfman

We were on our way home from a day trip to Jasper and stopped at drive thru, that was taking way too long. So, we had a little fun with Drew and his animal noises.
