We moved!

I am behind on updating the blog (again), but for a very good reason this time - we moved in to our new house!! We had been renting a place and building for the last six months, so we have been on cloud nine over the last month - packing, moving, unpacking, getting settled, etc. It has been a bit exhausting, but we have been here for a little over 3 weeks now and things are starting to feel more like home. This is the first thing he thought we needed to do right when we pulled in the driveway that first night...
Picnic dinner in the living room floor!
Checking things out the first morning...
 First friend to have over!
 And another one....
First concert in the living room...
First time to cook at the house and the first time for me to use a gas stove...
First mow...
I don't have a "first" title for this, but I love it for some reason - taking a serious stroll to get the mail...
One of his favorite hang outs when we are in the kitchen...
Drew loves the new house! Every time we come over the hill and he can see the subdivision entrance, he says "there's our new house!"... however, he has struggled with the sleep factor. When we moved in, we set up his big boy bed and that probably wasn't the best combination. So many things changed for him all at once and I have felt guilty for doing that to him, but we are getting there! Some nights he does really well, either not getting up at all or quickly going back to bed if he does wake up. But we have had a hand full of nights that remind me of having a newborn - up every two hours or up for two hours straight. I do think there have been times that he was actually sleep walking. One night he hadn't made a peep and then I woke up to him standing at our door saying "i need to put my underwear on" and he was actually holding a pair! Oh dear. Hopefully all of this is phasing out!

The night before we moved, he had his first school play. Too cute not to put on here! Each year, their school does an International Dinner and each classroom studies a different country. At the dinner, they count in the language from their country and then do a song and dance. The parents also bring different foods from each country. Drew's class had Kenya, so they counted in Swahili! Crazy! Little man is going to be teaching me so many things soon!
It has been a while since I've updated our favorite Drew moments also. I know I won't remember all of them because we are having full out conversations and stories now days, and everything that comes out of his mouth is hilarious. But off the top of my head...

Words:
 - Scoop for scoot - "mommy, i need to scoop over"
 - Backerds for backwards
 - Bafroon for bathroom
 - Back for bat
 - Dragon for wagon
 - Muksics for music
 - Guitark for guitar
 - Haircup for hair cut
 - Up tie for up high
 - Racroon for racoon

Phrases:
 - "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to" (in the sweetest voice you've ever heard)
 - "I wanna do golf course" "I wanna play basketball goal" - when he wants to play golf or basketball.
 - "That's a no sir!" - he can do some serious scolding when he sees you doing something you have told him not to do.
 - "Don't go out in the stareet oookaaaay?" - if he is talking to you and telling you something, he ends it with an okay just like that - super drawn out and southern.
 - "No, we're not singing yet. You've got to be on the carpet, oookaaay" - I'm pretty sure he has heard this at school a time or two :)
 - "Night, night, sleep tight. Don't let the bugs bite. See you later aligator. After while crocodile. See you soon racroon"- This is what him and Andy say to each other every night while I'm getting him ready for bed. It is so cute! I wish I could type out the way he says crocodile - hilarious.
 - "Oh, that's cool" - he says this when he asks a question, you answer and he apparently thinks the answer is cool.

Like I said - his vocabulary exploded to full out conversations so quickly, that I know I'm missing so many. One more reason to stay on top of this thing more often...

A full month of updates!

Another month has gone by since my last post! We had a lot of fun in the month of April! Over the last four weeks, we have...

Cheered for Cassie and Halle at their basketball games. They are both playing on travel teams and have had games in NWA lately. Drew loves watching them and does so well at their games. He asks to give them kisses while they are playing, cheers for them and even tries giving advice... his famous line has been "take it to the rack" and he will yell it with no reservations at all.
Had picture day at school! There was a day for individual pictures and a day for class pictures. He was super cute and still sporting the curls! (best pictures i could get) Speaking of school, I got a note from Drew's teacher last week that said he had mastered all of the Early Primary work and they have started a shelf just for him with Primary work to keep him challenged. So proud of our little smarty!
Watched a Bobcat! We went out to the new house and they were working on the driveway - I loved this picture of Andy and Drew. I think they could have stood here and watched this all night.
Hung out with neighbors. Aubrey just lives down the street and we caught them outside one night. They are so cute together! I love this picture. What a gentleman.
Cut the curls off! We were so sad, but it was time. He immediately looked two years older and was so extremely handsome! He loves getting a "hair cup" too, so he didn't mind at all!
Made our first trip of the year to the Farmers Market. Drew stood and watched these guys play for a good amount of time, so he did the right thing and tipped them for their service.
Perfected his free throw's! Look at those cute little calves and that form! He can't dribble more than 2 times at a time yet, but he would attempt to dribble, stop, get his hands in the right position on the ball and then shoot. Very consistent routine. And again, seems so big.
Learned to pedal his tricycle! This seemed to happen overnight. I went out of town for work and came back to a little pro. He can take that thing anywhere and is pretty fast! When I was walking with him and would get in front to take a picture (of course), he would say "watch out Mommy! watch out!"
Got "Egged" by our friend Ryder. Such a cute idea! Drew loved it. I didn't get pictures of him hunting the little eggs in the front yard, but he had so much fun with it!
Went to Springfest and made another trip to the Farmer's Market! Springfest was a first for all of us. There were some cute booths, Drew got to do a little craft, but the best part was how perfect the weather was!

Colored Easter Eggs! And loved it! Our eggs were more the tie-dye version. All eggs were dropped in each color and sometimes even shared a cup. We had some interesting colors when we were finished!
Celebrated Easter! We started the morning off with an Easter basket, went to church and then to my parents house for dinner. Marlowe and Drew hunted eggs in the backyard and were pretty cute about it. They would find a plastic egg, sit down, open it, eat what was in it and then start over. I also caught Drew opening the eggs and dumping the candy in his basket, then throwing the egg back in the yard.
It looks like Drew is checking Kenzie out here!
 Peeking..
Such a fun month!

Catching up... Update

Hello! So much to update. I was having issues uploading pictures, but hopefully I'm back on track to update more often. This post may be super long, but since I last posted we...

Had a parent teacher's conference! Our second one for Drew. They do one in the spring and one in the fall. At the last one, Drew hadn't been in that class very long, so it was neat to see the comparison from October to March. The teacher gives you a sheet of categories they are working on with them. They show you what has been introduced to your child and what they have mastered. Drew was listed as mastering everything shown to him with the exception of covering a yawn/sneeze and counting backwards. His teacher said he was ready for the Primary class, but won't move up until July. She also said he loves to help her and is their "go to guy" when his friends need help with something. I doubt there is ever a negative conference at this age, but we heard so many positive things! Proud parents when we left there, for sure!

Went to our first dentist appointment! He did really good, but did not like when they put the fluoride on his teeth at the end. I don't blame him one bit. It's a texture thing! He was very curious and fascinated with everything they were doing. He got a great report and was cavity free. Hope we can keep that up!

Played his first round of golf! Well... 9 holes anyway. He liked it and lasted the entire time, but we had a few episodes of him running to the hole next to the one we were playing. Thank goodness we weren't somewhere fancy!

Had a fun snow day at home! We've had a lot of snow this year, so "fun" snow days were hard to come by. Drew is a busy body and being cooped up all day could be a challenge. We made the best of this one though! We colored, dressed up like Jake, took a mid morning bath and blew lots of bubbles, made banana bread and got into a million different things!

Made a trip to the cabin in Jasper! We went over for the weekend to watch the girls play basketball and cheer. Cassie got to play up with the varsity girls, so that was a big deal and exciting to get to see! When we weren't at games, we just hung out at the cabin and enjoyed each other!

On the way home, Drew waited until we passed all of the stores with bathrooms before he told us he absolutely had to go. So, we had a first! He hadn't started standing at this point at all, so we had to bust out the potty on the side of the road. When you've gotta go, you've gotta go!
Went to his first parade! The Fayetteville square had a St. Patrick's Day parade and he thought it was neat to get to see the fire trucks, the music and just all the fun things that come with a parade. It was a small one, but he was impressed.

Spent a weekend in Branson with my parents! School was closed on Friday for Spring Break, so we headed over to Branson to take advantage of the extra day. We had fun! Still a little young to get to do a whole lot, but the best part was the true quality time we got to spend with Drew. It can be hard to stop for an entire day when you are at home, so it was nice to be away for the weekend. My parents are always great company and good entertainment, so it was nice for Drew (and us) to get to spend some QT with them as well! We shopped at the outlet malls and my parents made sure Drew rode those little rides as many times as he wanted. We attempted to swim, but the water was too cold. We went to a little arcade, played mini golf, ate a lot and just hung out! Drew found a "guitark" while we were shopping and did not put it down all weekend. Lots of entertainment there!

That should mostly cover the bigger things we've done since I last updated! One last thing to update...

My favorite Drewisms:
*Fix it = Fis Ick... "Timmy's gonna fis ick"
*Hair Cut = Hair Cup.. Since he got his last hair cut, even just talking about his hair, it is "hair cup"
*Carry = Carrot... When he wants me to carry him he says "I wanna carrot"
*Kitchen = Chicken
*Guitar = Guitark
*Vaseline = Basine... he loves putting this on his lips before bed as chapstick.
*Bathtub = Bathtuff

My favorite Drew Phrases:
*"Did you sleep tight?" when we go into his room in the morning.
*"Yes sir!" when he makes a basket or hits a ball.
*"Mommy, you brush your hair cup?" when he sees me brushing my hair.
*"Where did sunny go" when the sun is all the sudden out of his face in the car.
*"Take it to the rack!" when he watches basketball with Andy.
*"Your feet cold?" when he saw me putting on my socks.
*"Night, night. Let the bugs bite" when he's going to bed.
*"Sweep dreams" also when he is going to bed.

My favorite newer things he has learned:
*Philanges - He has learned that his philanges are his fingers and toes and wiggles them when you ask where they are. Pretty sure I didn't learn this until high school!
*Heart - He knows where his heart is and when you ask, he puts his hand over his heart and says "bomp bomp"
*Boy/Girl identification - If he knows the person, he knows if they are a boy or a girl. I thought maybe he just knew specific people, but anyone he knows personally, he can tell you their gender. Intersting to me, because I don't even know how they teach that at this age! I really wish I could type out the way he says girl. It is hilarious. It has about 2 more syllables than it should and his mouth moves all over the place.

Leaving off with my favorite picture of our family so far this year! My SIL, Dessa, took this as we were walking in to a restaurant the weekend we were in Jasper. We don't have very many pictures of the 3 of us, but this is a keeper for sure!
